\u2013 The Polytechnic and Leeds Beckett University participated and was awarded a grant on the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme Call Reference No. EACEA\/07\/2020. Candidates must have a minimum CGPA of 4.0 on a 5.0 scale or its equivalent in M.Sc.\/M.Eng.\/M.Tech. and a minimum CGPA of 3.5 (second class upper) in the Bachelor\u2019s degree.<\/p><p><strong>Eligibility Criteria for Staff Mobility<\/strong><\/p><p>\u00a0To be eligible applicants must:<\/p><ul><li>Be nationals of a member state of the African Union and be resident in Africa.<\/li><li>Currently hold a permanent position at one of the participating universities.<\/li><li>Have not benefited in the past from an Intra-Africa scholarship for the same type of mobility.<\/li><li>Academic and administrative staff can only benefit from one scholarship within the same project under the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme regardless of the type of mobility or the funding project.<\/li><li>Have completed a PhD relevant to this application.<\/li><li>Have proven research experience in their field related to sustainable infrastructure.<\/li><li>Have the support (including a brief supporting statement) from their institutions.<\/li><li>Have discussed and agreed to the proposed research program with an academic (collaborator) at the host institution.<\/li><\/ul><p>Proposals should consider the impact of the research activities being planned and outline plans to maximise that impact. In order to maximise the value of the research leave, scholars are expected to have done a proportion of the background work to their project prior to commencing their research leave. The proposed project programme should show this activity.<\/p><p><strong>Credit Seeking Mobility:<\/strong><\/p><p>The ASIM credit-seeking mobility program focuses on capacity development and short-term mobility flows of 6 months. The call is based on the urgent need to increase the talent pool of expertise in infrastructure and to develop the capacity of African Higher Education Institutions (HEI) to deliver sustainable infrastructure education. The Intra-Africa Academic<\/p><p>Mobility Scheme supports higher education cooperation between African countries and aims to promote sustainable development by increasing the availability of trained and qualified high-level professional manpower in Africa.<\/p><p><strong>\u00a0Eligibility Criteria for Credit seeking mobility:<\/strong><\/p><ul><li>Should be registered in one of the four partner Universities: Covenant University, ARDHI University, University of Malawi and the University of Johannesburg.<\/li><li>Should be in the stage of doing research<\/li><li>Research area must be in Sustainable Infrastructure<\/li><li>Should not be beneficiary of any other funding<\/li><\/ul><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Credit Transfers:<\/strong><\/p><p>A Memorandum of Agreement has been signed between institutional partners to accept credits for modules included in the ASIM program. specifically, students can undertake the Research Methodology Module at host institutions, and full credits can be awarded.
