Ardhi University (ARU) is a unique institution, being the only one of its kind in Tanzania and in Africa so far offering integrated training and conducting research in the various matters related to land, the built environment and other environmental related issues, <\/span>under one roof.<\/span><\/p>

Its Vision is to become a center of excellence in seeking knowledge and disseminating it to a wide spectrum of beneficiaries at national, regional and global levels. While its mission is to provide integrated teaching, research and public services that are geared towards achieving sustainable socio-economic development for Tanzania and the World at large. It is so far the only university in Tanzania with the Centre for Housing Studies now grown into the Institute of Human Settlement Studies (IHSS), which is involved in the \u2018regularization of informal settlements\u2019, with which Dar es Salaam is plentifully endowed. In the 1979, the Centre for Housing Studies was established as a joint project between the Government of Tanzania and the Netherlands. The partnership was very successful, the center has now grown into the Institute of Human Settlement Studies (IHSS) which is currently offering various postgraduate programs including MSc. in Housing, MSc. in Public policy analysis and Program Management and PhDs in the following areas: (1) Built Environment Analysis, (2) Climate change studies (3) Housing and settlements studies and (4) Public policy analysis and Program Management. Ardhi University has also been involved in partnership opportunities with various institutions to strengthen higher education (postgraduate) programs, research and infrastructure as indicated including Erasmus+ KA107 an Erasmus mobility program in partnership with Universit\u00e9 Hasselt ; EU Commission- H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie, Global Fellowship Accelerating transition in peri-urban areas in East African partnership with Technische Universit\u00e4t Darmstadt ; Erasmus+ G KRITISO4, Mobility Student exchange, staff exchange (ERASMUS) in partnership with Technological Education Institute of Crete, Greece; Erasmus+ LI VADU201, Staff and Student exchange programme in partnership with University of Liechtenstein and Ardhi University; and INTRA-ACP, Strengthening African Higher Education through Academic Mobility in partnership with 6 other African university<\/p>

Standard package of services provided to scholarship holders.<\/h3>\nInternational Office in each Institution <\/strong>\n\nThe international offices or equivalent at the host institutions will be fully involved in the management of and putting in place measures to ensure that incoming students and staff can obtain VISAs, any administrative support that they may require, provide all the travel information needed for the host country as well as being available to ensure smooth travel and arrival in the host’s country.\n\nResearch centres <\/strong>\n\nThe ASIM Partners’ research centres will be involved in the administering of the project. The research centres are university-approved research structures, and so they will be used to support the mobility participants. The centres will help participants integrate and feel part of a community within the host institutions.\n\nOrientation Program for staff and students <\/strong>\n\nAll visiting students and staff should integrate with the host institutions’ colleagues to facilitate effective learning and exchange of ideas. Therefore, hosting Partners will arrange induction activities to the country, institution, and particular departments or research centres. There shall be an orientation for staff and students immediately after arriving and settling down on campus. This would help them settle in and have a good understanding of their host institution and nature\/structure of their programs.\n\nProvision for Housing, Orientation and Cultural Aspects <\/strong>\n\nEach host institution will make arrangements and provide accommodation for both students and staff. There shall be an engagement of cultural activities at the inception of the program from each host institution to help bridge the culture shock. The students and staff on the mobility scheme shall also be introduced to the university management on arrival.
