WELCOME TO ASIM

A consortium made up of Ardhi University, Covenant University, University of Johannesburg, University of Malawi – The Polytechnic and Leeds Beckett University participated and was awarded a grant on the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme Call Reference No. EACEA/07/2020. The award was on the proposed action entitled Africa Sustainable Infrastructure Mobility (ASIM).

ASIM is a collaboration between four African universities and one EU Technical partner with a primary objective of developing education, training, and research capacity for African professionals to enhance the delivery of Africa’s sustainable infrastructure.

The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme supports higher education cooperation between countries in Africa and aims to promote sustainable development by increasing the availability of trained and qualified high-level professional manpower in Africa. The primary objective is to improve the skills and competences of students and staff through enhanced mobility between African countries. The Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme is set up under the Pan-African Programme (Development Cooperation Instrument)

The focus of the academic mobility is twofold: developing a pool of highly qualified professionals in sustainable infrastructure development benefiting and learning from unique and diverse African challenges, and improving the quality of education provision as a means to enhance sustainable infrastructure delivery.
The primary aim of this project, therefore, is to increase the talent pool of expertise in infrastructure and to develop the capacity of African HEI to deliver sustainable infrastructure education.

Our vision

 1. Develop a pool of highly qualified professionals in sustainable infrastructure development.
2. Developing, benefiting  and learning from unique and diverse African challenges.
3. Improve the quality of education provision.
